Creating Shared Value: Impacts of Nestlé’s Moga Factory on Surrounding Area – Executive Summary

The present Executive Summary is the result of a study carried out by the Third World Centre for Water Management, Mexico, on the impacts Nestlé’s factory in Moga, Punjab, India, has had on the social and economic development of the people in the region over the past 50 years. The main objective is to learn to what extent Nestlé has contributed to fulfilling the societal aspirations and expectations of the people around its factory in terms of poverty alleviation, general improvements in the community’s standards of living and environmental conservation. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first-ever comprehensive and in-depth study on the impacts of a private sector factory on and around the area where it is located that has been carried out anywhere in the world.
