The event was the IHAWC’s inaugural international congress, providing a forum for dialogue between hydropower companies, investment and development banks, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and other stakeholders involved in the development and operation of hydropower projects for discussion of: technical hydropower innovation; social and environmental performance; the role of the public and private sectors; social responsibility; and certification of good practice in the hydropower sector.
