Interregional Water Transfers: Projects and Problems

As more and more water becomes necessary for agricultural, industrial and other purposes, certain regions of the world have already started to face shortages, so much so that it is becoming one of the major constraints for further socioeconomic development.

To transfer water over long distances from surplus to deficit areas is one method of alleviating this rapidly developing critical situation. The experiences of different countries in interregional water transfers and their geophysical, environmental and economic implications are discussed in this volume.
